Our love story isn't like the rest, no unintentional meet cute. It all started with a swipe, and a like. Both single and looking for a connection, Brad took the leap first.
Brad was scrolling through Hinge one day liking profiles, my profile he remembers liking my humor, and liked my smile, and how pretty my eyes were. He liked me without expecting to hear anything back. Luckily for him, I like his goofy smile as well. He looked like he enjoyed life, and loved to have fun, I could have used some of that in mine.
I remember sitting at work looking through my likes, seeing Brad's profile. I remember thinking to myself "Oh he likes Coors, he'll get along with my friend" I did my normal check out of his profile, made sure his teeth looked nice, he said he was 5'10" which was tall enough for me. I responded to his like, asking him how he was that day and what he was up to. Oh boy did I get an ear full so to speak. I got a message that felt 10 pages long about his bathroom tile. At this time Brad was renovating his master bathroom, and this particular day he was finishing up his bathroom tile work. This message went on and on and on about how much he hated this tile. How this tile was going to be the death of him. I remember setting my phone down thinking "man this guy is nuts" I went about my day, and as I walked, I turned around. I thought to myself that, that was the most real and honest response I had ever received.
We connected after that and set plans to meet for a first date. Fast forward to this date, I was nervous, he was nervous. I met him at a random dive bar in Woodburn that he had chosen. I was hungover from a game night the night before and really did not want to go. Something in me told me to do it anyways, we met, and it was the funniest time. We connected, laughed, and talked for hours. I left that date with butterflies, and pure excitement of what could be.
We jumped in fast, spending weekends together, and weekdays apart. I lived in Salem, while he lived in Estacada. The distance was hard for a while. We found out early into our relationship we were expecting a baby. It was fast and sudden, despite that we were ready for this adventure. We were already so in love with each other, it just felt natural. I quit my job and moved in shortly after. We were one big happy family, 3 kids and a dog. After our one-year anniversary, I was ready to plan a wedding.
One evening we were cleaning up the kitchen, as we discussed the next steps for getting married, he asked me. We were engaged in March and have been excited and eager to make this day happen. We are so excited what life will bring, and so excited to share this beautiful day with everyone we love. It all started with a swipe, and a like.
